Are you using IMonitor to monitor the WWW service? If so don't. There is a problem with this check that will hang ports open and eventually you will run out of available sockets and then the service dies.

Subject: [IMail Forum] Web Messaging Service dies many deaths

Web Messaging has been crashing about twice weekly. We are running IMail 8.15 HF 1 on Windows 2003 Server. The IMail logs do not seem to indicate a cause (as far as we can tell). Here is the error message that we always get in Event Viewer:

Faulting application iwebmsg.exe, version 4.12.30.4, faulting module
iwebmsg.exe, version 4.12.30.4, fault address 0x0001adcc [sometimes a
different fault address].

Any ideas would be appreciated - deeply!

Bill
