Do they have authentication enabled in their clients if your server requires it?

My mailserver has an internal ip address, with my public mail address on my firewall. Webmail is working fine. I have a small handful of Outlook users who can receive mail and send internally just fine. Any attempt to send mail to the outside world using Outlook results in a return (550: Relay not permitted) I'm not sure what setting I need to tweak (relay...gateway?) Thanks for the help.
