Thanks to that bit of advice I now have Evolution and Outlook 2003
working. Hoorah! I had to disable the IDLE extension in imapd as this
was the sticking point for Outlook (although this may have been due to
having the server and workstation running under Xen on the same machine
so I'll be doing more tests there). Evolution just needed to be set in
IMAP mode, not IMAP4rev1. I'm a bit surprised at the speed so far - very
fast indeed.
Just for the record, I've re-enabled the IDLE extension in uw-imap and Outlook 2003, running on a different machine, seems to work just fine.
