PS: I have been asked by beleagured server managers, who have trouble doing backups of their IMAP servers because of huge flat files, NOT to remove the 2GB limit on flat files. The primary instigation of the mix format was in fact to solve the backup problem. The greatly increased performance is a side benefit.
