Really? How?
I build Alpine on a case-insensitive Mac filesystem all the time, and have
never had any problems. I also regularly build Alpine on a
case-insensitive Windows filesystem.
FWIW, I personally feel that a case-insensitive filesystem is preferable
to case-sensitive; but also that it is 37 years too late to change UNIX's
case-sensitive filesystem ways. I have not encountered very many tarballs
which contain file names that differ only by case, but I have encountered
a few (Alpine is not one of these).
So I have a secondary filesystem on my Mac that is case-sensitive. I'm
nervous about changing the case-insensitivity on the primary filesystem
for fear that it'll break some obscure Apple thing that depends upon
case-insensitivity.
