I run UW-IMAP on an Ubuntu machine and connect to it using PC-Alpine 2.00. I upgraded to Ubuntu 8.04 and now I get this message in PC-Alpine:

"Server name does not match certificate: Continue anyway?"

The IMAP server is not identifying itself to the Alpine client by the same host name that was used in creating the server cert. Check the SSL pem file that was created (probably) when UW-IMAP was installed, and compare it to whatever the server is calling itself today. Probably the hostname or DNS got fubared during the Ubuntu upgrade.

Thanks for the hint. How does uw-imap get the server name? The imap server says "localhost" but /etc/hostname has the machine's network name. $HOSTNAME is set to this name, too.

Best regards
Stefan
