Is there any IMAP extension which would let the client ask the server for an email address corresponding to a particular mailbox?
One case where this would be useful: a mailbox holds the messages of a mailing list, but of course APPENDing to the mailbox will not distribute the message to all subscribers of the list; perhaps the server doesn't even allow APPEND at all. If the user is replying to an earlier message, the list address will already be available in the previous message's To/Cc header fields - but if the user is composing a new message, they'll have to type out the address by hand, or specially configure the MUA to know that "new messages in the context of this mailbox should go to this address".
