I'm doing the implementation for UIDs and thought that the UID will be stored within the Mail itself.
Taking a look at RFC 2822 I couldn't find anything about UID, the Identification Number is called Message ID.
Is UID = Message ID?
No. UID is 32 bit unsigned integer, Message ID is a string and several messages in the same mailbox can have the same Message ID, but they must have separate UIDs.
