Our Client is in Urgent Need for SQL Server DBA with peopleSoft experience. This is a 12+months Contract to hire position in Nashville, TN. Title: SQL Server DBA with peopleSoft location: Nashville, TN Start: ASAP Duration:Contract to hire (12+ months) Rate: Open SQL Server DBA with peopleSoft experience. Requirements: MUST have experience with the following: Microsoft SQL Server 2005 DBA and programming Experience. Strong understanding of database structures, theories, principles and practices. SQL Procedures and triggers development. Ability to work effectively with end-users, understand their technical and operational needs and translate them into viable technical solutions and training. Superior verbal and written skills, encompassing complete understanding on the English language with exceptional communications skills. Microsoft SQL Server certification. Nice to have skills: PeopleTools: PIA, Application Designer, Data Mover, Upgrade Assistant and Configuration Manager. Weblogic and Tuxedo Experience. Cognos multidimensional cubes development and administration Job Summary: Successful Candidate will be responsible for supporting PeopleSoft and other applications on Microsoft SQL Server 2005 platform. In addition, the position will be responsible for the installation, monitoring, maintenance, and performance tuning of SQL Server based applications. Responsibilities include: planning and coordinating data migrations; designing, building, installing, configuring and supporting Microsoft SQL server databases; performance tuning and troubleshooting; planning, scheduling and executing backup/recovery procedures. Responsibilities: The position will support database related tasks for Cognos BI, PeopleSoft HRMS, PeopleSoft Finance and PeopleSoft Portal using Microsoft SQL Server 2005 platform. Coordinates physical and logical changes to computer databases; and codes, tests, and implements physical databases by performing the following duties which may include but not limited to the following: Designs logical and physical databases or reviews description of changes to database design to understand how changes to be made affect physical database (how data is stored in terms of physical characteristics such as location, amount of space, and access method). Establishes physical database parameters. Develop detailed data models and designs based on functional requirements, Apply object-oriented, component-based, and service-oriented design concepts and design patterns, Develop and maintain expertise in methods, tools, and products designated for use in programming and testing activities, Develop SQL Server 2005 Stored Procedures and triggers. Modify existing computer programs to incorporate changes based on new user requirements, Calculates optimum values for database parameters such as amount of computer memory to be used by database. Ensures the backup and recovery of all databases using various technologies. Coordinates with programmers and analysts to make changes to database management system. Modifies database programs to increase processing performance, referred to as performance tuning. Education AND Experience: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or a technology related field is preferred NOT required. At least four (4) years of related experience is required.
