ok... The active sync loggin was set at per device already but it has
never created any logs.
I think the version before was 5.2.21
nothing else on the box was updated.

This error just means that the activesync client re-issued a
command using the same syncKey - usually because it did not
receive the response (or understand it) when it initially
requested it. You will see a more informative error in the
activesync log.
As to why this is the case, it's hard to tell from the context you
provided. Might be transient if the devices were sync'ing while
the upgrade was occuring.
