Bukuru, When in conditional formating, in the "if this condition is true" use
"select a field or group". You had selected "pregnant" instead of selecting
"value" which is under "pregnant". Then select "is equal to" and choose the
option for "Yes" in the next field.

At the bottom, choose "disable this control".
Thats it.

I really am failing to understand why It is failing. Ok, lets walk through it
again; as per the Pregnancy status, you are on the right track.

can u share your xsn?

Ketta, sorry for being late in my follow up to your advice. I
have tried to play with conditional formatting as  per your explanation but
I’m probably doing something wrong somewhere,
firstly let me go through my concepts as i might be wrong, I have

1.‘EDD’
and ‘ANC NO’ are two separate concepts:

‘EDD’ has a ‘DATE’ datatype and’ ANC
NO’ has a textbox control for numeric input.

They are to be filled if the answer
is ‘YES’. I only dealt with these ones first.

2.Pregnancy status – this concept has coded answers ‘YES’ and ’ NO’.

Is that how i
should do it? or do i add NO and YES separately as i can not access them in the
dropdown if they are coded.

IS this what i should have as condition? – ‘Pregnancy status IS EQUAL to NO’.

if
this is, then again how do i access NO  form the last dropdown?Bukuru.

When in "Conditional Format", choose "Add", then from the drop down list which
has a default option of "value" just click so that you get a list from it and
then choose "select a field or group", from the data source choose "pregnancy
status" (which I believe you have with the option YES and NO) , the next next
option has to have a default value of  "is equal to" and from the third option
select "NO"

Below, there is something like "Then apply this formatting, you can select
"Read Only" or "Hide This Control". It should be able to work because I got it
is working on mine - the moment it is a man's data I am working on, the
Pregnancy options are automatically disabled.

Thanks Ketta for your reply, i have checked the conditional formatting
functionality and was unable to link the 'NO' answer to 'PREGNANT?'  with
option answers provided as explained in my first(ref: code 5) post, the same
thing applies to 'YES' answer, i could do with  more help on this please..

While in infopath, you can specify it from the "conditional Format"

Create the concept
"Pregnant", then create EDD and also ANC, then add them to your xsn.
While in infopath, use the "controls" available to have them into your infopath
form.

After which, right click "EDD" box and choose "Conditional Format" choose "Add"
you can specify the parameters using the available options there.

Hi guys, can some one please advise me on how to approach this challenge:

I have to  create a concept as follows:

concept-'PREGNANT?' if yes insert insert EDD & ANC#, if NO, insert code

5.Basically

EDD and ANC#  are values to be added in two separate inputboxes(textboxes)

should the answer be 'YES'. If the answer happens to be 'NO' then code 5 in

inserted

code 5  consists of several answers to choose from. Im using infopath forms.

please help.....
