Erick, Which version of sync module are you using? I remember 0.972(not very sure maybe 0.974 if out) has a way of resetting some failed records. If this fails, please check again your configuration. In the parent server, it can tell you the status of the child server from its angle as far as i can remember. I will check on this and reach back to you.
