Subject: [OPENMRS-IMPLEMENTERS] Question on possible use of OpenMRS

Dear OpenMRS Implementers,

we are considering the use of OpenMRS in the following medical record scenario:

each patient carry a single instance of OpenMRS on a USB key or something
similar to allow medical doctors to update its clinical path with exams data:
the patient will carry its usb key with him like a personal medical record and
the USB stick will contain the single patient data only.

A central repository server sync and aggregate all patients data: this way each
patient medical record is backed up in the central server

In the proposed use case each medical actor in the diagnostic path will insert
the usb stick in a PC , sync if possible with the central repository, update
the medical record and eventually resync: sync is limited to the availability
of internet connection.

Do you think it is possible to use or easily adapt OpenMRS to be used in this
scenario?

The number of patient for the pilot project will be limited (less then 100)

Thank you very much for any help,

Best regards,
Stefano
