The import itself is also something that can be done by anyone if you supply the source data in a suitable format; instead of importing data that still needs work, you could prepare and make available the data and let whoever is willing and able to do the extra work do the import. That might provide a better incentive (and better satisfaction) to the person doing it than if you import something and hope that someone else is going to tie up the loose ends!
