Sure. I'll use the Lincoln National Forest as an example (it's the one I've been playing with the most, and the one I've the most GPS tracks). The USFS has shapefiles for trail and forest road data: http://www.fs.fed.us/r3/gis/lin/Transportation.zip from this landing page: http://www.fs.fed.us/r3/gis/lin_gis.shtml I forgot to mention that for many of New Mexico's National Forests (Lincoln included), they are divided into "ranger" districts that are typically physically separated. I plan on doing imports of each ranger district separately to minimize the amount of data uploaded and to divide imports into distinct changesets. This OSM file I've not done any editing; it's not split into ranger districts, nor are ways simplified, but you can load it up and get an idea of the import. http://maps.rhombic.net/Datasets/Lincoln_Trails.osm -- Samat K Jain <http://samat.org/> | GPG: 0x4A456FBA Gumperson's Law: The probability of anything happening is the inverse ratio of it's desirability. -- None (579) _______________________________________________ Imports mailing list [email protected] http://lists.openstreetmap.org/listinfo/imports
