Dear imports list,
informing that OSM Latvian community is preparing import of address points
in Riga, largest city and capital of Latvia. Address point data is
provided by Riga municipality via open data service and have appropriate
licence. The import proposal is described in

The goal of import is to significantly improve addressing situation in
Riga. The import size is about 20 thousand (already excluding OSM existing
data) address point nodes to be added and correspondingly tagged.
Wide discussion is made in Latvian OSM mail list talk-lv (although in
Latvian), where local community approves the proposed import and gives
suggestions for import improvement. The import data is respectively
prepared in the way not not to overlap the existing address information in
Riga in OpenStreetMap database, but to supplement it.
