A good idea, but it should be redundant for anyone with the File Exchange
control panel (MacOS 8 and above?).  If this is set up properly (and I think
Revolution tries to do it for you when installed, but it might not have
succeeded, then 'foreign' files with the .rev extension should get the Type
and Creator codes assigned automatically.  If it hasn't been set up up, you
can open the control panel and do it yourself.

If it has been set up, and you're finding that stacks downloaded (by FTP?)
are not getting automatically set in this way, my guess would be that
they've been downloaded in text mode.  File Exchange won't process the
extensions for files which are already marked as type "TEXT" - and if they
have been downloaded in text mode, then they might be corrupt anyway.  My
advise is to set your FTP client to always download everything in binary -
if you're using any decent text editor (BBEdit) then you can handle non-Mac
linebreaks anyway, and I wouldn't trust an FTP client to choose
'automatically' when to use text or binary mode.
