Further tests of the 'prepare' command are STILL confusing. My initial
tests were on a Mac (see below), but on a Windows 98 PC, the prepare
command STILL seems to actually play the audioClip, rather than silently
load the audioclip into memory, as I'd expected. When a series
of 'prepare' commands are played in a repeat loop, only the last is
audible. However, that seems to occur because the successive 'prepare'
commands are interrupting each other, because inserting 'wait until the
sound is done' between the 'prepare' commands makes all of the sound
audible. Regardless of which method I use, however, playback latency of the
'prepared' audioclips is still erratic, even on fairly fast PC. It's worse
on an older Mac.

I must be misunderstanding something. Is this really how the 'prepare'
command is intended to work? Can someone clarify how the 'prepare' command
should be used?

Let me add another question: Can one sound be loaded with the 'prepare'
command, while another is playing?

Thanks again!
