I am using v. 1.1b1 in Mac OS X on a G4 tower. Recipe:
Create a group in a stack. Create a new card without the group on it. Switch to Browse mode. Place the group on the new card using the Place Group menu command. The group is placed on the card, selected, even though in browse mode. The group stays selected and this state blocks messages to any controls in the group.
