A final thought--about the global property to allow use of the mouse() or other polling functions--I would consider it a bad idea if it was just to discourage people's scripting habits, but if it was a question of improving the behavior of the polling functions by having a longer queue, and/or improving the performance of applications without them, it might not be a bad idea.
Well, I don't want to get things flamed up again as I have a tendency to do on contentious issues (I have too much debate in my blood and it leaps into action whenever a verbal glove is thrown down) so I hope we could get over the whether-or-not aspect of the issue, at least for the short-term, and just find a suitable behavior for the function, with or without an enabling property, and let the people who use and don't use it in peace. One more question--would such a global property affect the use all the functions on the list we saw, or just mouse and mouseClick (if retained)?
