Wilhelm Sanke <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>compared cards with 100, 200,
250, and 775 controls each on two
different computers, a Windows 98 PC with 350 MHz and 128 MB RAM and a
Mac G4 Powerbook with 500 MHz, 516 MB RAM running in "Classic" mode
under Mac OS 10.1.

Sadly I have no wisdom to contribute to the central issue of this
thread, but I was fascinated by these figures. There are too many
variables for me to judge whether the platform/environments are even
approximately equivalent. (And that is not a criticism of Wilhelm, I
don't for a second expect that he should have tried harder in this
respect).

I also recall ages ago some discussion on the MC list about platform
performance comparison, but can't recall the essence of it.

So, to my questions. Are we talking here about performance within the
development environment only?.....hence the differences between mc &
rev? Are there any performance differences between platforms worth
noting both within the IDE and 'delivered' standalones?

Best wishes
