This is not exactly what you're looking for, but it may be helpful.

It uses PROC MIANALYZE with PROC MODEL, which is very similar to SYSLIN. Indeed 
MODEL can do almost everything SYSLIN does. 
The key is to transform the OUTEST= dataset of PROC MODEL into a TYPE=EST 
dataset and rename some variable. I assume it will be the same for SYSLIN. Note 
that this requires SAS V9.
