Hi Does anybody have the Modem Script for the Virgin Mobile USB data card.
The USB modem hardware gets detected automatically in Leopard but the problem appears to be getting the right modem script to work on it. The standard Suntac, AU, Supra etc modem scripts do not work anymore. Virgin Mobile is a MVNO (Mobile Virtual Network Operator) using Tata Indicom's network but with their own branding and an unique series of numbers. Otherwise all network settings should be similar to Tata Indicom. The problem is we keep getting the message "authentication failed" after getting disconnected. The user name and password put is "internet" as in case with Tata Indicom's settings. When we went into the log details, the problem is related to "LCP request timeout" which is usually consistent with a CHAP (Challenge Handshake Authentication Protocol) connection process. The same card works properly in Windows. I feel we either need a different modem script or maybe some settings need to be changed in the User Name/ Password / Dialing number. Pls revert if you have any suggestions to progress beyond this point Thanks Savio
