I have a fairly recent MBP, 13 inch, early 2011 model. It is about 14
months old and so is out of warranty. Recently I realised that that battery
icon started showing me the message that the battery condition was poor and
I needed to replace it soon.

I used coconutBattery and saw the details regarding the load cycles and
capacity and here's what I found.

Apple claims that the MBP battery would give a 1000 cycles before declining
to giving 80% charge and mine is still about 600 and yet I get 77% charge.
I have not observed a significant decrease in the battery time my mac gives
me, so I am not very worried. But this message that the battery icon shows
bothers me a bit. As we speak, I am calibrating the battery (I did it last
2 months ago) and see if that makes any difference. I would like to know if
I should plan on replacing the battery in the next few months if this
continues. And also as it is not in warranty, how much would a 13inch MBP
battery cost, and if I can replace it myself?
