What I'd request you to do is analyze your sentence above and figure out who is 
"WE"

The sponsors were Evolve (for the venue) and Nissan (for the food/drinks). 
Evolve is a training center. They don't sell Mac hardware. Their parent company 
is Neoteric which is a Apple distributor. Nissan deals in accessories and not 
selling hardware. I'm not sure they would be inclined to showcase the new 
Retina display MacBook Pro which would cost them 1.5 lakhs. I suspect they 
would not be able to justify the ROI. :)

They are on this mailing list and they did not respond to your request for 
doing a demo of the new products. When the sponsor does not reply, it's an 
indicator that they won't be fulfilling that request.
