Hello

My MacBook pro late 2009 model has become a little slow so many people have
suggested that I go for a clean install of lion

I was originally on leopard when I bought it and then upgraded to snow leopard
with the official cd which I bought later

Now I have taken time machine backups on an external hard drive

My question to you is I want to make a clean install in the hopes that it
should speed p things and also how do I exactly go about it

I have prepared a pen drive of lion to install to be on the safer side I plan
to prepare a DVD also

But how should I go about formatting the hard drive as I do not have any
partitions except for the main macintosh hd

And after I do a reinstall how do I get all my apps and installed software back
with their settings back

How much time do I need to devote on this so I will know when to start
