1) remove the sync. 2) remove all contacts from mac address book. 3) go to google contacts on the net. 4) Clear the duplicates and set right your contacts. 5) Now sync your contacts to mac address book. 6) Now you would have "0" duplicates. 7) confirm this with multi edit app. Keep a watch and see how it's going.
