You've got to admit that the owners of the flags have every right to do what
they want with their own flags, but I can't help thinking that it's a real
shame for the Stretford End to lose some of its own character just because
of a protest against Glazer.

While openly endorsing Glazer's regime is one thing, pulling down flags just
because it gives the impression of "business as usual" seems a bit odd.
Remember these flags have been there long before Glazer, so how does keeping
them there or putting them back endorse Glazer's rule? Also, given the
amount of adverse publicity, I don't think anyone in the country is daft
enough to think that by keeping up the flags (or indeed putting replacements
up) we are tacitly approving the takeover! Our opposition to Glazer is
obvious and, thanks to SU, IMUSA and the others, will not go away.

While I have great respect for the anti-Glazer efforts, and admit that the
decision was made for a worthy cause, common sense seems to have been lost
here. Let's wait a couple of weeks for the fuss to die down, then put them
back up - at the end of day, they are in support of the players on the
pitch, not the directors in the boardroom!

Of course it is saying something to the Glazers! By putting new flags up
they are showing the Glazers that they will assist them in showing the world
that it is business as usual and that United fans back the Glazers. It is as
simple as that.

Before we start shouting abuse at each other, would it not make sense to
bear the following in mind: Does any of the money contributed to the flags
go to the Glazers pockets? The Ole flag should also stay up there. Ole is a
Patron of SU, and has alway publically stood by the fans and been against
the takeovers. The last thing we should know about is what the "new" flags
are going to say. I can see the point of taking the flags down, but some of
those flags are emotional flags, and if people want those flags up they
should stay. If the flags stay or go, it still does not say anything against
or for the Glaziers.
