Reports suggest (see below) that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is set to make his comeback in the reserve game against Liverpool at Hyde on Monday night.
If you'd like to go along to give OGS support (if he plays) or indeed just to support the reserves then details are below. We understand that any gate receipts (its about £2 - £3?) do not go into the Glazers' debt hole but rather are kept by Hyde United who need the money. However entry is free on production of Season Ticket / LMTB (possibly even last season's) - not sure about One United members or juniors? Gates open at 6pm and kick off is at 7pm. Traffic can be very busy so you might want to set off early. Directions to Hyde United FC Exit M60 at junction 24, take the M67 ( towards Sheffield ) to junction 3 (Hyde Dukinfield Stalybridge.) Once on exit slipway keep to right-hand lane heading for Hyde centre. At traffic lights at end of slipway turn right onto Clarkway. Once on Clarkway/Reynard street at the second set of lights turn left (although there may be a problem due to roadworks in which case you're on your own!) ( Morrisons superstore will be on your left ) onto Mottram Road. At the first set of lights on Mottram Road turn right onto Lumn Road. After approximately 200 yards you will come to a 'giveway' sign. There you turn left onto Walker Lane where after approximately 50 yards you will see Hyde Leisure Pool on your left. The entrance to Ewen Field is to the right hand side of the leisure pool. Hyde's full address is: Hyde United FC, Ewen Fields, Grange Road, Hyde, Cheshire, SK14 2SB. Solskjaer set for surprise return 2/12/05 9:07 AM http://www.manutd.com/news/fullstory.sps?iNewsid=280510&itype=466&icategoryid=120 The Norwegian striker, 32, is poised to play in a reserve league match on Monday night after a successful return to first-team training. "Ole should start or play against Liverpool (reserves)," Sir Alex Ferguson told the Manchester Evening News. "On Tuesday he hadn't trained with the first team at all but yesterday he trained with us for the first time and looked absolutely terrific. "I am really pleased about this and there is some light at the end of the tunnel now." Later on Friday Ferguson was quizzed about the surprise development, and he freely admitted his own surprise at the news. Speaking to ManUtd.com, Key 103 and the Press Association, the Scot revealed: "Ole came in and trained on Thursday which was a surprise to me because he'd been training with the Reserves. "I said at the press conference on Tuesday that I was worried about when he was going to come back, and he comes out on Thursday and surprises me. "I said to him 'you're looking great, you could play.' It was just sort of a carrot to him and he said he'd love to play on Monday against Liverpool, and I said ok." Today's developments will delight United fans who regularly sing Ole Gunnar's name at matches. His last competitive appearance for United was as a substitute in the 2004 FA Cup Final against Millwall. The FA Premier Reserve League match against Liverpool will kick-off at 19:00 GMT on Monday 5 December. As a home fixture for United, it will be played at Hyde FC's Ewen Fields stadium. The match will be shown live on MUTV.
