They've been exaggerating the attendances all season. People tell me that the attendance figures include all season/lmtb holders whether they are there are not. I KNOW that - they have ALWAYS done that. BUT I'm not blind, stupid, yes, not blind. There are so many spaces all over the ground that declared attendances are just bollocks.
They are trying (to use the modern vernacular) to 'big it up'. To convince us that all is well with the world. That NOTHING has changed. They are so frightened that someone is going to see the 'magic suit' - or not see it as it never existed - and realise that football is on the wane. That the bubble HAS burst. That they've got 76,000 seats and fewer people who want to sit in them - and it gets fewer every year as they make silly price increases. Nobody is more committed to the 'Faith' than me. Many (MANY) are AS committed, but nobody more so. It is not possible. I would give my life for the Club. BUT I can only give what I've got - only pay what I have. Next season I may not be able to pay. That would end 52 years of support and 35 years of season ticket ownership. Do you think they give a shit? Of course they don't. But they will continue to lie about the attendances. Continue to suggest that the day-trippers will fill all the seats. Because to tell the truth will lay them open for people to see that the product is far too expensive. Far too expensive for the 'real' customer base - which is, of course, working-class people like myself. On another, but related, tack - what do we all think about the latest bollocks? Do we believe, as they want us to believe, that they just told Mansion to stick their £70 million? I'm perhaps just daft enough to believe it. Or are they now shitting themselves because nothing is happening and Nike are telling them that their deal is over too? I'd think that is more likely. Mansion, by the way, admitted that 'fan pressure' was a MAJOR factor in them pulling out of the deal. So those on this, and other, List(s) who keep telling me that I/We are wasting their time are WRONG. Perhaps those people, those apologists, those traitors have sold their arses to Glazer. The supporters ARE winning the battle against Glazer, his spawn and the other tw*ts on the Board. We WILL prevail. I have NEVER been more sure of anything in my life. Keep the faith, Pete P.S.
