There were certainly rumours on deal day (in the guardian but I can't
find the article) that this was going to be shifting around of money
rather than an out and out payment.

But seriously, no matter who the sponsor is - their money, and any
other money put into the club, is going to pay the debt.  There's no
way glazers would have ring fenced that money for fergie - they need
to service the debt.

I bet the banks are getting twitchy now that there's a doubt over how
much input the business brain malcolm is having.  Would you like to
trust an empire to someone who only got there by the fact that he was
born into a family.  Could Mark Thatcher have run the country when his
mum was poorly?  Leo Blair?
