Some oversights and problems dampened this event:
Rectify/add to this: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Fedora_14_release_party_gcect Almost the whole of the event organization was done by GCECT students including Fedora contributors. The initial organization was good. The number of participants was high (100+) Event Publicity level: low The auditorium selected was an old fashioned one with nothing to write on ... fairly inappropriate. Punctuality ?! Main PC for Fedora Install Demo : Fried apparently due to electricity (?) Projector became dysfunctional after that. (I arrived much later for my talk, so did not see. ) Possible reasons: Power surge despite UPS Box was moved while the PC was in operation So all speakers had to speak. ...if at all. I had to reduce a 50 min talk to ~10 min because of the nature of the topic (had a headache in addition). Rahul Ghose and Prabin spoke well Stephanie did not deliver her talk. audience interaction was good. ____________________________ For college events some of the senior ambassadors should check the logistics and infrastructure in person.
