These are some very good images from Mr. Lamba. Thanks for sharing them with us.
I would suggest the inclusion of scientific names in these emails. Unlike birds, there has been no significant effort to globally standardize the common names of odonates, and thus some common names have the potential of creating significant confusion. In fact many odonates lack any common names at all. Case in point - this is a Male *Pseudagrion decorum. *The common name used in "Dragonflies & Damselflies of Orissa and Eastern India" by Manoj Nair is "Three-lined Dart". However, the name "Elegant Sprite" is also used elsewhere. -- Cheers, Arka S On Fri, Sep 9, 2011 at 10:15 PM, Shantanu Bhattacharya <[email protected]>wrote: > Elegant Sprite - male from Pune. > Photo by Mr.Rahul Singh Lamba > > -- > You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups > "Indian Herps and Insects" group. > To post to this group, send an email to [email protected]. > To unsubscribe from this group, send email to > [email protected]. > For more options, visit this group at > http://groups.google.com/group/indian-herps?hl=en-GB. > -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Indian Herps and Insects" group.
