As somebody who needs to have sound working for my day job, I need advice on why the OpenSolaris Developer Preview Live CD, and the installation of same to the hard disk, did not get audio working.
If I click on the little red x beside the volume control in the GNOME panel, I get a popup telling me it can't find any such devices. This is a Dell Dimension 8200, and sound works just fine on Ubuntu and Windows Xp. I did a "prtconf -v", and rather than hit the list with almost 100Kb of information that's of little or no use to most people, I've made it available at: http://blogs.sun.com/richb/resource/system-info.txt Pointers on how to fix this would be much appreciated.
