1) Yes, it is available

2) That is not true. You can install a tarball image of the studio
tools so you don't need pkgadd to have them

3) pkgadd is for sys5 (svr4?) old style packages not IPS packages, you
can install new packages right now with "pkg install X" you don't need
pkgadd for that. This means, for example, that you can install gcc
from pkg.opensolaris.org.
