step 1: can you ping the machine in question?
tests name service lookup, networking config, routes, etc.
step 2: can you connect to that port (use mconnect to test this)?
eliminates port-specific issues such as firewalls, etc.
step 3: Are you using tls/ssl? Make sure your host keys are
configured. Due to a bug in the indiana preview, this isn't happening
by default. If you cannot ssh into your indiana machine, run
/lib/svc/method/sshd -c to create these keys.
