In the eyes of the indiana community, it is going to be the default base of the next generation of Solaris. So you may call it an experiment in the next generation of Solaris as well as the base for what the reference distribution of OpenSolaris should be. But thats just my 2c EUR. > Also, why you name packages with prefix SUNW? Most peoples look for gcc, for > example, but can't find it. So SUNW would be sun packages, CSW would be plastwave, SFE are from the Spec Files Extra project. Not the worst of things in my opinion but of course as always thats just my private opninion. > And last one, why you can't merge you efforts with guys from Nexenta and > blastware and make one big repository? > Nexenta is a differnet concept and would be ard to merge package wise I guess. Blastwave is going to prvide IPS packages that will run with indiana. > -- > > This message posted from opensolaris.org > > _______________________________________________ > indiana-discuss mailing list > [email protected] > http://mail.opensolaris.org/mailman/listinfo/indiana-discuss >
