Title: E-mail Signature Sun 2006
Let's hope it gets addressed soon before Open Solaris inherit's a name "Open Slowlaris"... :)

On my Tecra M2, Package Manager often uses 100% of CPU time... (often meaning almost systematically)... and that can't be giving the right message to our users.

Gilles.

Sure. But then why is Synaptics so much faster at doing, more or less, the
same thing?

It could be using a local cache or any number of things. I haven't
looked at Synpatic's source code.

The point is that the issues are known, the primary slowness can not
be attributed to choice of language, and it will be addressed.

Cheers,
