I can't tell the difference, but a number of other people have mentioned
it. Some claim they got better, others they got worse - I imagine they're
looking at the same screens and have different preferences. There are a
number of font rendering options you can set in the GNOME Appearance preferences
panel to adjust the drawing of fonts to your liking/hardware.
There were changes to FreeType2 in nv_91 to fix a previously reported bug:
6679786 [nevada] poor fonts displayed in gnome-terminal
There's another set of changes coming in nv_93 with the upgrade to FreeType
2.3.6.
