I'm having the same problem; I installed onto an 8GB virtual disk thinking it'd
be plenty big. I've now resized it to 20GB but I can't get the root zpool to
grow (and if I add another disk to it, I assume it will no longer be bootable.)

Is there any way to resize the root pool currently to avoid this? I tried
rebooting from the CD, then running fdisk and format to resize the partitions.
This did work, but also broke things so I could no longer import the root pool
even after a reboot; fdisk and/or format are overwriting something important,
guess.

I see bug 6475340 is still not resolved, but
http://mail.opensolaris.org/pipermail/zfs-discuss/2006-October/034941.html
indicates I should be able to write a new EFI label with format after the fix
for bug 6241086 went in to build 90.
