Hello,

i'm testing b93 on amd64. I see Indiana as a great progress especially
the package management is a big step to make opensolaris solaris more
usable. But at the moment it is still limited to testing systems for me.

It happends, that i removed a package, that contains a
symlink /usr/lib/64 -> amd64. The symlink is owned by multible packages,
SUNWcsl and SUNWfreetype2 for example. Sadly uninstalling any package
that contains this symlink will delete the symlink even if other
packages contain the symlink too.

Also uninstalling of packages should handle dependencies. If i just
uninstall SUNWPython nothing will keep me from that and a can't continue
unsing pkg without zfs rollback. I think pkg schould warn the user if he
want to uninstall packages that are still required by other packages. I
think pkg should ask more before doing, even for installation i would
like to get a question with the full list of packages pkg want to
install, -nv is doing its job, but it is circuitous.

An other Problem is, that the input method framework slows down the
xterm startup. It takes about 16 seconds on a dual-opteron to start a
xterm, if i remove the SUNWiii* packages, is is musch faster, but it
still takes multiple seconds. This problem is also present on my SXCE
installation but Openwin Xterm it starts immediately if the SUNWiii*
packages are removed.

Other unpleasantness is the requirement of Gnome for beadm, on a server
i normaly would not like to install Gnome and i guess beadm could work
without gconf.

I further would like to search in substrings or regular expressions and
in the description of a Package, "pkg search apache" doesnt find you an
apache server, "pkg search apache2" of course does.
