Hi,

findroot is a replacement for the "root" command (not bootfs). bootfs can be
used with
findroot without any ill-effects. findroot menu is the preferred option over
root because the
current beadm menu (which doesn't have either root or findroot) will not work
correctly
if you have multiple disks.

Subject: [indiana-discuss] bootfs or findroot in GRUB menu?

Hi, after some upgrade (now I run OpenSolaris snv_98 and ZFS revision
13) I executed the upgrade steps (from [0]), but now I see this 2 entry
in menu.lst (both running well):

#---------- ADDED BY BOOTADM - DO NOT EDIT ----------
title Solaris 2008.11 snv_98 X86
findroot (pool_rpool,1,a)
kernel$ /platform/i86pc/kernel/$ISADIR/unix -B $ZFS-BOOTFS
module$ /platform/i86pc/$ISADIR/boot_archive
#---------------------END BOOTADM--------------------
title Solaris 2008.11 snv_98 X86
bootfs rpool/ROOT/opensolaris-98
kernel$ /platform/i86pc/kernel/$ISADIR/unix -B $ZFS-BOOTFS
module$ /platform/i86pc/$ISADIR/boot_archive
#============ End of LIBBE entry =============

the first use findroot, the other bootfs, which is the *best* command to
use?

Thanks and sorry for the cross-post!
