Petr Hruska, here are the answers to your three questions:
1. I have set the German keyboard layout during the installation of Open
Solaris 2008-05 when I was asked to specify the layout.
2. I think that I got the US - layout.
The output of the 'kbd -l' command is the following:
type=6
layout=9 (0x09)
delay(ms)=500
rate(ms)=40
3. I have tried to set the German keyboard layout by the GUI in the
gnome-session, but this did not work.
I also tried to use the following command in the terminal: 'kbd -s' and 'pfexec
kbd -s', but this did not work too.
I also tried this hint:

But this did not work too.
Any suggestions?
