Anyone who knows why I get the below error message when clicking the speaker
symbol? It has a red slash over it... snv_91 I run...

------
The volume control did not find any elements and/or devices to control. This
means
either that you don't have the right GStreamer plugins installed, or that you
don't have a sound card configured.

You can remove the volume control from the panel by right-clicking the speaker
icon on the panel and selecting "Remove From Panel" from the menu.
------

I've external speakers attached to the back of my PC and when I run osstest I
get
these results:

$ osstest
Sound subsystem and version: OSS 4.0 (b1016/200806171344) (0x00040003)
Platform: SunOS/i86pc 5.11 snv_91

*** Scanning sound adapter #-1 ***
/dev/oss/ich0/pcm0 (audio engine 0): Nvidia nForce4
- Performing audio playback test...
   <left> OK <right> OK <stereo> OK <measured srate 47990.00 Hz (-0.02%)>

#### Here I hear sound of good quality, left, right, and stereo

/dev/oss/ich0/spdout (audio engine 6): Nvidia nForce4 S/PDIF out

   <left> OK <right> OK <stereo> OK <measured srate 47992.00 Hz (-0.02%)>

#### Here I hear no sound at all

*** All tests completed OK ***
