Hi, David,
I think there maybe copyright risks to integrate the dictionaries in
opensolaris repo, though they claimed to be GPL or "Free to use". As a
reference, Ubuntu/Debian only has one dictionary for english-to-czech in
their repo. And stardict-3.0.1 could work without local dictionaries, I
had ported it to Solaris with SunStudio C++ compiler. You could get the
spec file from SFE repository
(http://pkgbuild.sourceforge.net/spec-files-extra). If you'd like to
pack it for /pending or /contrib, that would be great!
BTW, I had filed an OSR for integrating it to OpenSolaris, but still
waiting for the approval. (the newer version is licensed in GPLv3).
Regards,

StarDict, according to its homepage, is the best dictionary program in
linux and windows (http://stardict.sourceforge.net/).
Currently we have SUNWstardict, but no dictionary files. IMO, those
dictionary files are good candidates for /pending, From this page
http://stardict.sourceforge.net/Dictionaries.php, it lists many
dictionaries in tarball or RPM, the license could be GPL or "Free to
use". If nobody else wants to take the re-pack task, let me do it.
Also when to resync SUNWstardict to the latest version (3.0.1). It's
only 2.4.3.
The G11N group at Sun currently owns SUNWstardict and so
[email protected] is probably a better place for botjh of
these questions.
