I just realised that my machine running OpenSolaris b108 doesn't have the
man page for ipf in section 1M, although ipfilter(5) explicitly has it in
its SEE ALSO section.
pkg search ipf.1m brought this to light (I'm using
http://pkg.opensolaris.org/dev/ as authority):
