Hi,

I updated to 109 from the dev repository, but booting hangs. A verbose boot suggests it is having problems with a PCI express card (a no-name si3132 SATA 2 controller) that is working (it is being booted from) and worked in build 106.

The last few lines of a verbose boot are:

[...]
pseudo-device: acpippm0
acpippm0 is /pseudo/acpi...@0
pseudo-device: ppm0
ppm0 is /pseudo/p...@0
npe0 at root: space 0 offset 0
npe0 is /p...@0,0
PCI Express-device: pci8086,3...@3, pcie_pci1
pcie_pci1 is /p...@0,0/pci8086,3...@3

Does anyone have any suggestions on getting 109 going?

I filed a bug that looks similar (6815701) it seems related to the MSI interrupt for AHCI putbak in snv_109 (6768770).

Ah, I remember something on xwin-discuss about MSI interrupts. (Searches) Yes, you can disable them by editing the last line of / kernel/drv/nvidia.conf, and the suggestion was that they'd be disabled by default until all the known MSI bugs were fixed.

Did MSI interrupts get enabled post 106?

I was asked to boot into kmdb with -kd and use "::bp ahci`_init' and at the breakpoint disable MSI " ahci_msi_enabled/W 0" but i can not generate any input from my Type 6 USB keyboard after i reached the breakpoint. It you think this might be related please give it a try.

I can give it a try! Thanks!

Cheers

Chris
