The dev repo is not upgraded on the same schedule as the SXCE releases,
though the team that makes the upgrades makes every attempt to do so
when possible.

And can I meanwhile upgrade my development version to higher beta BE's?
If you're asking if you can have other boot environment's that use newer
builds from /dev, yes.
