* This document is multi-purposed.
- It is published as HTML and supports the 2009.06 release.
- It is translated into multiple languages.
- It is re-formatted, printed, and bound in minibook format (like the
one displayed on this page:
http://www.opensolaris.org/os/documentation/). This hard copy is handed
out at various public events.
* This version of the document has been overhauled from previous
versions and largely adheres to the outline posted in this thread:
http://www.opensolaris.org/jive/thread.jspa?threadID=98151&tstart=0
* Chapter 1 is essentially frozen, as it has already gone through a
review cycle and has been handed off to G11N for translation and
integrated for inclusion on the live CD.
* The audience is the user who generally wants to learn about and use
OpenSolaris. More specicially, the user who wants to:
- Get some background on OpenSolaris
- Experiment with the Live CD
- Install OpenSolaris
- Set up basic development / computing environment
- Learn concepts about using OpenSolaris that are unique to it
