Hmmm. That would seem to indicate the wrong stage2 (?) was loaded? I'm
not a grub expert, so I don't off the top of my head recall which stage
is which.
If I do give it the findroot, it's obviously okay. Then it has:
(hd0,0,a): Filesystem type is zfs, partition type 0xbf
